Graphical modeling of dynamic brain connections due to the changes in the cognitive ability Lead Investigator: Young Woo Institution : Mount Sinai E-Mail : youngjae.woo@mssm.edu Proposal ID : 1022 Proposal Description: We hypothesize that there is a white matter connection changes that accompany cognitive decline. These changes are not independent but rather associated with one another in a dynamic manner. We would like to construct probabilistic graphical models of brain connections using diffusion tensor imaging and contrast different networks by diagnosis and other clinical measurements. We expect losses of hippocampal and temporal lobe connections to other brain regions as hubs but different connection models may arise that could distinguish distinct clinical phenotypes. Classifications that arise from this study may elucidate new connectivity-based disease models and be informative to future quantitative study designs or diagnosis.
